Columbus I-70 4R

American Structurepoint was selected by ODOT Central Office to lead the construction inspection for the 4R improvements. Project 4R is improving safety and reducing congestion in this important corridor by reconstructing northbound I-71 to create two continuous lanes and providing an additional eastbound lane for I-70. It is also building a new gateway entrance to downtown with ramps from eastbound I-70 and northbound I-71. The project requires extensive maintenance of traffic, drainage, and utility coordination to accommodate the multiphase construction effort. Managing the utilities is paramount to avoiding unnecessary project delays. American Structurepoint implements a detailed utility tracking log to cross reference the utility note with the final plans, quickly identifying any potential conflicts. This proactive effort ensures a seamless transition between all phases of work.
