Bridge No. 123
Cass County, Indiana
Our firm provided design and construction inspection services for reconstruction of this historic 5-span, earth-filled arch bridge on CR 825E over the Wabash River. Work consisted of removal of various existing portions of the structure, reconstruction of all four piers and portions of the arch rings, and construction of new spandrel walls, concrete bridge deck with cantilever for widening, decorative bridge railing, and retaining wall. This project also included reconstruction and realignment of CR 125 S. The $2.45 million project included embankment construction, minor drainage improvements, and bituminous paving. Bridge No. 123 was an LPA project with work completed for the Cass County Highway Department in coordination with INDOT. The project won an American Concrete Institute award for Outstanding Achievement in Concrete Design.
