LaPorte County Courthouse Renovation and Expansion

Michigan City, Indiana

American Structurepoint designed a $21 million renovation/expansion of the historic LaPorte County Courthouse, built in 1909. We provided architectural, interior design, landscape architecture, structural and civil engineering, and surveying services for over 30,000 sft, with oversight of geotechnical, mechanical, and electrical engineering; plumbing; and fire protection. American Structurepoint also designed a 23,000-sft addition to the courthouse. All courthouse areas were renovated to consolidate space for several LaPorte County offices currently located in a nearby building. The program includes renovating and providing space for the Auditor’s Office, Treasurer’s Office, Assessor’s Office, LaPorte County Health Department, adult and juvenile Probation Department, IT, Prosecutor’s Office, and Sheriff Department.
