16 Tech Program Management
Indianapolis, Indiana
The 16 Tech campus is a transformational project for Indianapolis that consists of approximately 60 acres in the heart of downtown being developed as a multidisciplinary innovation district, designed to attract global life sciences and technology companies, as well as other developments. American Structurepoint is involved in the first phase of development of the campus that will include design, construction, relocation, renovation, improvement and/or equipping of certain infrastructure as necessary to solicit, facilitate, and support private sector development of the 16 Tech campus. There will be 3.5 million sft of additional building space over the next ten years as the 16 Tech campus grows and expands. Our team developed a comprehensive traffic study for the entire development involving multiple intersections and new roadway connections that provide access to the overall development.
16 Tech is an Innovation Community being developed in downtown Indianapolis. The development will be a regional hub for multi-sector entrepreneurship and innovation situated in an active, dense work-live-play environment. To enable the plan, significant infrastructure development and redevelopment are required. Phase 1 includes the relocation of two 36-inch diameter water transmission mains and a 24-inch water transmission main that serve downtown Indianapolis. The relocation will result in the construction of a new 875-lft 36-inch ductile iron transmission main, a new 1,060-lft 36-inch ductile iron transmission main and a new 1,150-lft 24-inch ductile iron transmission main. All ductile iron transmission mains will be double wrapped with polyethylene and will incorporate 316 stainless steel hardware for enhanced chloride corrosion resistance. Future phases of the 16 Tech project currently in design include 1,200 lft of new 20-inch ductile iron transmission main, 1,000 lft of new 30-inch ductile iron transmission main, 1,200 lft of 54-inch prestressed concrete cylinder pipe finished water conduit and the rehabilitation of 1,650 lft of 60-inch concrete finished water conduit.
