Stormwater Feasibility Study

Bonita Springs, FL

The City of Bonita Springs identified a study area that was in need of a detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis due to drainage issues that have been observed. In addition, during Hurricane Irma in September 2017, significant flooding issues occurred within the City. The study area was under as much as four feet of standing water for a duration of more than three weeks. This significant duration of standing water impacted sanitary sewer infrastructure, delayed power restoration and cleanup, and kept residents out of their homes following the storm. American Structurepoint provided an overall feasibility study to develop conceptual design improvement alternatives that would allow for the reduction of flooding in the study area, both with the duration of the flooding and the limits of the flooding.
