I-65/I-70 Rehabilitation (Hyperfix)

Indianapolis, Indiana

American Structurepoint designed and planned the $34 million repairs to the combined section of I-65 and I-70 along Indianapolis' near east side, which carries 175,000 vehicles each day. To quickly and safely repair this stretch of interstate in the heart of Indianapolis, the interstate was completely closed to traffic for 55 days. Working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, construction workers made much-needed repairs to 33 bridge decks and more than 35 lane miles of pavement. Also included were widening of the off-ramp from westbound I-70 to Emerson Avenue from 2 to 3 lanes, including a double left-turn to Emerson Avenue; widening of the off-ramp from westbound I-70 to Rural Street from 1 to 2 lanes; and pavement widening, shoulder, and backslope widths/slopes, as well as pavement markings and signal loops for an additional left-turn lane onto Emerson Avenue.
