This fast-track project involved design of a 5.8-mile road construction project, including land acquisition, utility relocations, and construction inspection. The project consisted of a new 4-lane, divided suburban parkway with multi-use recreational paths and landscaping to create a linear park atmosphere. Decorative street lighting and architectural treatments at the intersections accounted for a portion of the of landscaping. The project included extensive coordination with affected property owners to ascertain their desires and prepare an attractive, functional landscape plan in consideration of the project budget. The project also included three bridges, traffic signals at major intersections, and two roundabouts at minor intersections. This project was delivered on an extremely tight, 6-month development schedule, and costs were financed by a local bond issue.
