In 2021, American Structurepoint teamed with Bowen Engineering to design and construct the first phase of the transformative hospital expansion. This progressive design-build project followed the utility master planning efforts American Structurepoint had completed in 2020 and included significant utility relocation work to enable the construction of the hospital. For this project phase we provided project management, stakeholder coordination, civil engineering, land surveying, stormwater modeling, road and traffic design, permitting, and utility infrastructure engineering for water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, natural gas, electrical, telecommunications, high pressure steam, and chilled water supply and return. Consideration for constructability and construction sequencing throughout the design phase was critical to the process of coordinating the simultaneous infrastructure modifications to eight major utilities, while maintaining 24/7 operation of the emergency department at the existing hospital. This phase of the project received an Engineering Excellence Honor Award in 2023.

From 2022 to today American Structurepoint has teamed with VS Engineering to design the remaining infrastructure improvement phases of the transformative hospital expansion, following the roadmap that was developed in 2020 with the Utility Master Planning efforts.
