Speed Zone Redevelopment Master Plan
This award-winning project guided the Speedway Redevelopment Commission through a strategic planning and design process to create a master plan and redevelopment strategies. American Structurepoint took an integrated approach to technical planning that included a multidisciplinary team. Our planners and architects refined and implemented smart growth principles to improve the quality of life for residents, enhance the visitor experience, and encourage economic development. We provided an array of master planning services to create a visual roadmap of a dynamic and cohesive downtown landscape. This included streetscape improvements to town streets, sidewalks, and bicycle trails; cultural hotspots and entertainment venues to drive tourism; and a variety of mixed land uses to promote a strong sense of place.
The planning process focused on sustainability and a "complete streets" concept and included detailed master land-use plan for the area, streetscaping, architectural guidelines, development and attraction strategies, and strategies for business cooperation and financing. The project also includes an extensive public participation and public relations strategy to engage stakeholders and the general public during the planning process. This project increased development interest in the area within a short time period.
