Community Revitalization/Redevelopment, Scioto Peninsula
Columbus, Ohio
American Structurepoint provided civil engineering services for this mixed-use development project west of downtown Columbus, Ohio. The American Structurepoint environmental services team began the initial effort, conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) at the Scioto Peninsula project site. The investigation identified historical hazardous materials land uses on the site. We worked closely with the client on the strategic sampling and data collection to understand the potential risks associated with the site and provided recommendations. This project was one of numerous projects being developed simultaneously with other developers, the Columbus Downtown Development Corporation, and the City of Columbus for redevelopment of the Scioto Peninsula. As a result, surrounding infrastructure was being designed as we were designing the residential component of the project.
