American Structurepoint-Led Reimagine Pleasant Street Project Receives 2026 Aim Community Placemaking Award

Indianapolis, Indiana [September 30, 2026] – The Reimagine Pleasant Street project developed for the city of Noblesville, in partnership with Hamilton County, with American Structurepoint serving as program manager and lead design consultant has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 Aim Community Placemaking Award (Population Over 50,000). The award was presented during the Aim Ideas Summit Awards Luncheon and recognizes projects that enhance community identity, improve quality of life, and create meaningful public spaces.
Completed in 2025, the $125 million initiative transformed a long-discussed transportation challenge into a community asset that improves mobility, strengthens connections to downtown Noblesville, and creates new opportunities for residents and visitors to experience the city. The 2.5-mile corridor creates a critical east-west connection from State Road 32 to State Road 37. The project includes six roundabouts, three bridges, an extension of the Midland Trace Trail, pedestrian tunnels, public art installations, landscape improvements, historic interpretation features, and enhanced drainage infrastructure.
“We are honored to see Reimagine Pleasant Street recognized with the Aim Community Placemaking Award,” said Cash Canfield, president of American Structurepoint. “This project demonstrates what can happen when a community envisions infrastructure as more than transportation. By bringing together engineering, planning, landscape architecture, public art, and historic preservation, the project creates a lasting investment that enhances how people move through and experience Noblesville.”
For more than four decades, Noblesville sought a solution to relieve congestion through its historic downtown while supporting continued growth. The completed corridor is expected to reduce traffic along State Road 32 through downtown by approximately 20 percent while improving safety, accessibility, and connectivity throughout the community.
A defining feature of the project is its emphasis on placemaking. Public art, trail enhancements, landscaping, and historical storytelling were intentionally integrated throughout the corridor to reflect Noblesville’s history and identity. The project also preserved significant community assets, including minimizing impacts to the Plum Prairie Historic District.
“Reimagine Pleasant Street reflects the power of collaborative design and community engagement,” said Rick Conner, CEO of American Structurepoint. “We are proud to have worked alongside the City of Noblesville and Hamilton county to help deliver a project that not only addresses transportation needs but also strengthens economic vitality, supports recreation, celebrates local history, and creates a sense of place for generations to come.”
This project has already become a source of civic pride, highlighted by the community’s “Party on Pleasant” celebration that drew thousands of attendees to commemorate the corridor’s opening. By combining transportation, environmental stewardship, historic preservation, and public space enhancements, Reimagine Pleasant Street exemplifies how infrastructure investments can create lasting benefits beyond mobility alone..
