Wabash America’s Best Communities Strategic Plan

America’s Best Communities (ABC) is a nationwide competition over three years that calls on small towns and rural communities to show why their community should be considered the best community in the US. American Structurepoint’s planners guided Wabash through the ABC competition and developed a unique community revitalization plan. The dreams and goals of this plan were divided into four initiatives to help organize and understand the areas that make Wabash such a great community. The four initiatives included the visitor experience, livability, parks and recreation, and entrepreneurship. Each of these are critical to retaining and attracting residents, businesses, and visitors. With American Structurepoint's help, the City of Wabash advanced to the quarter-final round of the compeition. The Indiana Chapter of the American Planning Association selected this strategic plan for the Outstanding Communications Initiative award for 2016.
