American Structurepoint teamed with Bowen Engineering for this progressive design-build wastewater treatment plant expansion to increase the plant’s treatment capacity to 1.75 MGD. Upgrades included an innovative biological treatment process to remove phosphorus from wastewater, optimized hydraulics and operations, and a complex sequencing of construction to complete the project in just 2 acres of space..

Project components include a vertical loop reactor that provides biological phosphorus removal, new clarifier, new UV disinfection and post-aeration tank, chemical phosphorus system, SCADA system, splitter box modifications, headworks screen upgrades, sludge pump building, conversion of existing tanks into aerated sludge holding tanks, and associated structural, civil and electrical work. American Structurepoint provided utility infrastructure, process, civil, and structural design for the project.
