Redwood Living Real Estate Developer Jim Frey is preparing for one of the biggest trips of his life. He’s taking a 720 mile ride on his bike from Michigan to New York to raise $100,000 for the Women’s Global Cancer Alliance (WGCA), a non-profit organization that helps women in developing countries live healthier lives. Losing several members of his family to cancer, it’s a personal mission for Jim.
“I’ve been on a lot of fundraising rides over the years, but this one is close to my heart, “said Jim. “When I heard about WGCA and the work they do across the world, I knew that I had to do something to support their cause.”
The WCCA is headed by Dr. Robert Hilgers, whose ongoing efforts in Haiti include cervical cancer screenings and the building of health care facilities for women.
“Jim’s charity bike ride will literally save thousands of lives, “said Dr. Bob Hilgers, gynecologic oncologist and founder of WGCA.” Jim has shown a great commitment to the WGCA, which will ultimately help us raise awareness and build cancer programs that are directed toward prevention, early diagnosis and treatment.”
Jim is available for media interviews on Tuesday, September 23 and Wednesday, September 24. He will be leaving Columbus on Wednesday evening for the ride. Please contact Jim directly for all media inquiries.
Jim’s company, Redwood Living, is donating $20,000 towards his ride. Indianapolis-based firm American Structurepoint is matching that donation. Follow Jim’s ride on Twitter @JimFreysRide. For more information on the WGCA or to donate, visit www.womensgca.org.
