Upper Valley Bridge Construction Management
This project included inspection services for the improvement of 0.14 miles of CR 327 (Upper Valley Pike), including replacement of the existing prestressed concrete box beam bridge over Storms Creek with a 3-sided arch culvert. The project also included full-depth pavement replacement and profile adjustments on CR 327 as well as a minor relocation of the intersection of CR 85 (Storms Creek Road) and Township Road 117 (County Line Road).
Pavement details included 8 inches of asphalt concrete on 6 inches of aggregate base, as well as paved and aggregate shoulders with drains. The bridge structure included a precast reinforced concrete 3-sided arch culvert and headwalls with footings on piles spanning 42’-0” with a rise of 13’-0”, 66’-0” long, all on a 12-degree skew. Cast-in-place wing walls were also installed along with 36-14” CIP reinforced concrete piles (15 vertical, 21 battered) at both the south and north footings. The project utilized vegetated ditches on both sides of CR 327 south of Storms Creek for post-construction best management practices. Additional elements included guardrail, mailboxes, landscaping, erosion control features, signage, and pavement markings. This LPA project was performed for Clark County in conjunction with ODOT District 7. Construction costs were $1.09 million.
