Transportation and Stormwater Program Management
American Structurepoint team provided program management services and general department staff assistance for the transportation and stormwater divisions of the Indiananapolis Department of Public Works. The team was tasked with assisting in rapidly developing strategies on project selection and implementation, as well as working to manage the City's Storm Water Capital Program.
The RebuildIndy program included infrastructure improvements to restore deteriorating thoroughfares, residential streets, sidewalks and bridges, as well as address neighborhood drainage and flooding issues and demolish unsalvageable abandoned homes that pose a public safety threat to neighborhoods. A variety of projects completed also included intersection improvements, bridge improvements, studies, unsafe building construction management, the Legacy Project, Fountain Square, street improvements, and traffic volume studies for the downtown streets. We managed up to 20 subconsultants to provide services including assisting with planning, design, construction, and inspection, as well as sustainability, outreach, and document management. Since June 2010, the city of Indianapolis has invested over $295 million in the RebuildIndy program. Some milestones of the program included:
- Exceeding minority-, women-, and veteran-owned business goals set by the City (15%, 8%, and 3%, respectively, are currently at 29.3%, 10%, and 6%, respectively)
- 668 lane miles of resurfacing
- 31 bridge/culvert reconstructions/rehabilitations
- 408,311 feet of sidewalk construction
- 46 miles of bike lanes
- 3,260 ADA ramps
- Secured $6 million in Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) funding
