State Road 32 Reconstruction

American Structurepoint provided environmental services for the reconstruction of SR 32 through downtown Westfield. Due to the use of state funds, American Structurepoint prepared a State Environmental Assessment (EA) in compliance with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA). A critical element was the application and issuance of a Certificate of Approval (COA) through the Indiana Historic Preservation Review Board for impacts to the National Register-listed Westfield Historic District.

The project required significant coordination with interested parties through the COA process and the development of mitigation for adverse effects on the district. Extensive public involvement was necessary due to the proposed roadway going through a historically significant neighborhood.
