SR 37 Corridor Improvements

American Structurepoint provided design and engineering services for this award-winning conversion of SR 37, from 126th Street to 146th Street, from signalized intersections to a separated-grade facility. American Structurepoint provided program management along the entire corridor and for the design of the 126th and 131st streets interchanges. Traffic signals will be removed and replaced with roundabout interchanges where SR 37 intersects with 126th, 131st, and 141st streets, respectively, and a single point urban interchange at 146th street. The interchanges include sidewalks and crosswalks to allow for pedestrian and bicyclist traffic. SR 37 was depressed to allow the local cross streets to remain near existing grade to maintain existing views across the corridor.

Construction costs are being funded 80 percent by INDOT and 10 percent each by Hamilton County and the City of Fishers. Construction began in the summer of 2018 with the drainage outfalls. The project's overall completion is slated for 2025. This portion of the project received a 2022 ACEC Indiana Engineering Excellence Awards Honor Award for Transportation.
