Merrillville Fire Station 74 Renovation

The renovation of Fire Station 74 modernized a critical public safety facility while enhancing functionality, comfort, and readiness for the Merrillville Fire Department. Designed around the needs of the firefighters who live and work at the station, the project transformed key interior spaces to better support daily operations and overall well-being.

A new kitchen with island seating serves as the heart of the station, creating a welcoming space for crews to gather between calls and shifts. Living quarters were upgraded to provide greater comfort, while corridors were refreshed with custom wall graphics that celebrate the department’s identity and service. The renovation also included a new locker area for equipment storage and an outdoor patio that offers firefighters a place to relax and recharge.

The result is a modern, efficient facility that supports firefighter wellness, strengthens daily operations, and enhances the experience of those who serve the community every day.
