Celebrating 10 Years in Texas
Lift Station 313 Capacity Upgrade
This project consisted of many component renovations that allowed the firm capacity to increase from 33.7 MGD to 50 MGD. To assist with the increased capacity, a new 36-inch force main was installed in addition to the existing 48-inch force main in place. Yard piping efforts were completed to combine the mains, which included the installation of new 36- and 48-inch knife gate valves, 4-valve vaults, force main tapping operations, and a bypass system header. Extensive demolition efforts were completed to begin the interior lift station and wet well modifications. This included the removal of existing instrument and electrical equipment, suction piping, pumps, and wet well concrete. In terms of restoration efforts, the contractor installed new extensive concrete chambers and baffles to assist in wet well flow in both wet wells. The installation of a new overhead crane on the wet well deck also was implemented. The interior of the lift station also experienced many improvements. Five new Flygt pumps were installed with new suction line piping and discharge piping as needed. New HVAC equipment was installed as well. New variable frequency drives and electrical equipment also were included in this project. New instrumentation and control equipment also played a very crucial role in the renovation of this system. Yard restoration completed the project, while the contractor restored the site to grade, installed new fencing, completed asphalt pavement improvements to the existing access drive, and seeded the area.
