I-65 Added Travel Lanes Design-Build

American Structurepoint provided engineering design services to add travel lanes (one in each direction) along I-65 between SR 32 and SR 47 in the median, with 12-foot-wide paved inside shoulders and 12-foot-wide paved outside shoulders. The project also included bridge improvements and widening at the Prairie Creek crossing located north of the US 52 interchange and removal of the I-65 northbound bridge over Lafayette Avenue exit ramp. This INDOT fast-tracked Federal BUILD Grant project included full design services, NEPA documentation, and a topographic survey for the full 6 miles.

American Structurepoint was also responsible for the preparation of all environmental documentation, including the Categorical Exclusion Level 4, noise analysis, wetland delineation, Section 106 documentation, and public involvement for the proposed project. American Structurepoint prepared the Section 401 and 404 Water Quality Permit Applications, IDNR Construction in a Floodway Permit Application, Rule 5 permitting, and mitigation for impacts to 609 linear feet of stream and 4 acres of wetlands. American Structurepoint also prepared the application for the successful $20 million BUILD Grant for the I-65 ATL project for Boone County.
