Hamilton County Community Corrections Center
The 106,609 sft Community Corrections Facility includes areas to house the functions of secure detention, probation offices, and a new intake area. The building consists of two structural concepts, dependent on the security level. Steel deck on steel framing was used at the expanded vehicle sally port.
In addition to providing areas to house work release residents, the new Community Corrections Facility provides classrooms for work release inmates, as well as administrative and investigative offices. The entire facility is secured, and access is controlled from one central control room with full video and audio surveillance cameras and an intercom system. The construction consisted of a steel deck on steel bar joists supported by steel beams, columns, and load-bearing masonry. A steel security ceiling or an 8-inch-thick hollow core precast concrete plank roof system bearing on reinforced masonry walls was provided for secure areas of the building. The exterior shell is precast concrete panels with an exposed aggregate finish.
