West Blee Road (SR 794) Relocation (CLA-794-0.60)

This project included the relocation of SR 794 around the Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport and an Ohio Air National Guard Space. It required approximately 2 miles of highway relocation. Environmental work included an ecological survey. Three wetlands were identified using the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency’s Ohio Rapid Assessment Method (ORAM) criteria. Six streams were evaluated using the HHEI/QHEI methods.

Relocation for 650 lft of stream was conducted and an individual 401 Water Quality Certification and stream mitigation were performed. A five-year monitoring period for stream mitigation occurred, with annual monitoring reports submitted to the appropriate agencies.
