Columbus Construction Inspection and Materials Testing 2018-2024

As a subconsultant to Prime CM&S, American Structurepoint provided task-order construction inspection services to the City of Columbus. Services included construction inspection on numerous resurfacing projects, including urban milling, paving, and striping, as well as concrete sidewalk work and curb ramp construction. Projects also included inspections on utility relocation work in the city and site development inspections to coordinate and prepare upcoming projects for construction.

Additional projects included resurfacing and new curb and ADA-compliant curb ramps on Ashville Park, Rushing Way, Rising Way, Sandy Side Drive, and Fiesta Drive; patch repair and milling and resurfacing on Sullivant Avenue and Wilson Road; milling, paving, restriping, patch repair, and lifting on castings for manholes for a road diet on Parsons Avenue; milling and resurfacing on East Long Street; milling, paving, and loop detectors on Stelzer Road; brick and limestone curb replacement at High Street and Mound Street; and final inspections on fiber optics, repaired sidewalks and ramps, and seeding and mulching for pipeline repair projects, as well as many others.

One project, North High Street, consisted of pedestrian and vehicular improvements from West Poplar Avenue to Starr Avenue and included new curb and sidewalk with planter beds and street trees, updated street lighting, new traffic signalization, underground utility relocation, and storm sewer inlet relocation. The pavement was milled and new surface asphalt was placed within the project limits. This was the second phase of many to improve North High Street in the Short North Arts District.
