Bebee Road Improvements

Bebee Road is a 2-lane rural roadway where drivers experience inadequate sight distances, and long queues at intersections. In support of the City’s proposed 2022 Transportation Bond Program American Structurepoint prepared the Preliminary Engineering Report (PER). With the bond program’s successful passage, American Structurepoint is preparing final design plans, specifications, contract documents, cost estimates (PS&E), and permit support to upgrade 2.8 miles of the corridor.

Bebee Road will be widened to a 5-lane minor arterial section with a continuous 2-way left turn lane and sidewalks on both sides. All four intersections on Bebee Road between the I-35 and Goforth Rd/CR 157 limits are being converted to roundabouts, and the sharp curves near I-35 will be realigned to provide adequate sight distance and meet the requirements for a 40 MPH design speed. Landscaping and hardscape beautification elements will accent the new roadway. American Structurepoint will also provide bid phase services, construction administration, and project management services. Construction of roadway, drainage, and utility improvements are anticipated to be $53 million and will begin in May 2025.
