Matt Jennings Receives AIA Indiana Young Architect Award

Matt Jennings, AIA, project architect, has earned the 2021 Tony Costello Young Architect Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) chapter in Indiana. This award recognizes a licensed architect age 40 or younger achieving exceptional career accomplishments and advancing the architecture profession.

Matt celebrated his fifth anniversary with American Structurepoint in May. He has contributed greatly to several of our recent significant projects, including the Lafayette Public Safety Building, Allison Transmission Innovation Center in Indianapolis, Loeb Stadium in Lafayette, and the Dean and Barbara White Community Recreation Center in Merrillville, Indiana. Matt is also integrally involved in the Architecture + Interior Design Group’s incorporation of virtual reality (VR) into the design process, allowing clients and design team members to experience designs in a fully interactive 3D environment.

Matt frequently mentors recent architectural graduates and interns via his work with the Young Architects Forum (YAF), AIA Indiana’s emerging professionals program. Matt has held multiple YAF leadership positions since 2018, and is the president-elect for 2022.He has also volunteered with the ACE Mentor Program of Indiana and the Ball State University Architecture Camp as an instructor/mentor.

Matt is the fourth American Structurepoint architect to receive this award; American Structurepoint boasts the most young architect award winners in the state. Brandon Farley, AIA LEED AP BD +C, received the award in 2016; Brandon Hoopingarner, AIA, received the honor in 2017; and Rob Bray, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, in 2018.
