Corporate, Engineering + InfrastructureAug 31, 2017

American Structurepoint welcomes Mark Sherman, PE, to our Ohio Transportation Group located in our Columbus, Ohio office. Mark is the new project development director after serving 38 years in various roles with the Franklin County Engineer’s Office. He recently retired from County government as chief deputy engineer over operations where he managed all of the highway, bridge, and traffic maintenance operations for the state’s most populous county. Prior to overseeing operations, Mark spent many years overseeing the design and construction of several award-winning road and bridge projects.

“After three decades of progressive experience working to improve roads and bridges in Franklin County, I was looking for a private-sector engineering consulting opportunity in which I could continue to thrive and share my experience and knowledge with other communities throughout Ohio,” Mark said. “American Structurepoint is the perfect place that offers all of these things and more, and I am excited to work to improve infrastructure throughout the state.”

Mark’s role will allow him to use his expertise to help American Structurepoint’s clients recognize new opportunities and to assist them in tackling complex infrastructure issues. His talents will be used to handle business development, preliminary engineering, bridge type studies, quality control/quality assurance, funding, planning, and facilitating public meetings.

“We are very privileged to have Mark join our Ohio Transportation Group,” said Walid Gemayel, senior vice president and executive in charge of our Ohio team. “Mark is a talented engineer with a wealth of real-world experience who will be a huge asset to our firm and our clients.”
