Barrier Plan: American Structurepoint provided services from design through the construction phase. The design phase considered feasible site plan alternatives, constraints, and opportunities responsive and sensitive to site security requirements. The pedestrian and vehicular traffic circulation design incorporated many site security features and offered a safe environment with enhanced aesthetics, comfort, and circulation by eliminating pedestrian-vehicular conflict points. The site security barrier improvements included high-security barrier fences, gates, walls, bollards, planters, cable systems, CCTV, and landscaping.
Feasibility Study: Performed a master plan and feasibility study on this facility to bring the current building up to the UFC Anti-Terrorism Standards and to accommodate an additional 2,000 employees. The study included building envelope upgrades, relocation of the truck dock and mailroom, increased security standoff and security barriers, new parking garage and surface lots, new utilities, and revised site landscaping. Special focus was placed on meeting the DOD UFC standards as this is one of GSA’s first existing facilities to request major funding of renovations to meet these guidelines.
