The Parkview Regional Medical Center expansion includes a new core hospital and heart center, as well as renovations to the existing hospital’s women’s and children’s unit. Located on approximately 70 acres of the Parkview Healthcare Network’s corporate campus at the northeast intersection of I-69 and Dupont Road, the new center will consist of approximately 950,000 sft of building construction, including 50,000 sft of structured parking underneath the hospital and a new central plant and loading dock with a tunnel. In addition, the project will straighten Parkview Plaza Drive along the east side of the campus. American Structurepoint managed five civil/landscape subconsultants as the managing civil engineer responsible for on- and off-site infrastructure improvements, site design (both layout and engineering), on- and off-site traffic operations analyses and traffic signal warrant analyses, and permitting required for construction. The project included site, utility, grading, earthwork, and drainage design, as well as the design of complex, interconnected, low-impact stormwater quality facilities, which were the first of their kind approved by the Allen County Surveyor’s Office. The design, coordination, and construction of the $15 million off-site infrastructure improvements required extensive coordination with Parkview Hospital, the general contractor, Allen County Highway Department, Allen County Surveyor’s office, INDOT, and multiple utility companies, including the American Electric Power transmission line division.
