This INDOT project consists of the engineering assessment and design of I-65 from 0.5 mile south of the Whiteland Road Interchange to 0.25 mile south of the I-465 interchange, a total of approximately 12 miles. The project will address the increased congestion on the freeway due to the growth of the surrounding area and the deteriorating condition of the aging infrastructure. The Engineering Assessment Report includes traffic operations analysis of the four interchanges within the project limits, determination of the final scope of the project, proposed maintenance-of-traffic scheme, proposed ITS improvements, proposed bridge improvements, right-of-way determinations, and environmental impacts.
