A 25,000-sft manufacturing facility was damaged when an F1 tornado passed near the facility. Approximately 70 percent of the north wall metal siding and concrete block wall was displaced as well as roof uplift damage. American Structurepoint responded immediately to perform a structural evaluation and direct emergency shoring measures. Our subsequent damage extent evaluation and reconstruction design revealed the light-gage metal framing members were undersized and inadequately braced to resist wind suction pressure on the north wall.
