This construction project required repairing and replacing the 48-inch discharge line, valves, and appurtenances from Drainage Pump Station 17(D) at the intersection of Claiborne Street and St. Ferdinand Street and at the Mississippi River outfall located near the collapsed Press Street Wharf, while keeping the facility operational with a short downtime. American Structurepoint performed in a design/build role to design an outflow structure for the discharge lines at the Press Street Wharf. All work was performed in accordance with USACE standards, including installation and testing of new 48-inch discharge line segments, valves, and appurtenances; excavation, removal, and restoration of levee segment including revetment fill and riprap; repair of an in-line damaged valve; and removal and replacement of trash rack system.
