The Kennedy Park Sewer Separation project included providing a study comparing low-impact development solutions with the standard storm sewer pipe installation. This study focused on multiple low-impact solutions with their associated costs. The City wanted to actively pursue low-impact development solutions as long as they were cost effective. After the feasible solutions were determined, a public meeting was held to receive feedback from the affected.

This project involves design of a new storm sewer system to eliminate the stormwater flow from the current combined sewer system. The design is evaluating the implementation of green solutions for the stormwater management, which include rain gardens, bioretention swales, underground retention, and curb turnouts where feasible.
