This project involved a proposed 53-acre retail/commercial development along the southwest quadrant of SR 37 and Southport Road. As project engineer, Mr. Shah was responsible for performing traffic impact and operations analysis for the development. His responsibilities included scoping out the project and identifying the limits of the study area with the City of Indianapolis and INDOT; evaluating the collected traffic data; performing trip generation, traffic assignment, and trip distribution in the network within the study area based on logical routing; linear traffic projects/forecasting/performing capacity analysis for intersections and roadway segments within the corridor; performing signal warrant analysis at two intersections within the project corridor; and assisting the project manager in writing the project report and coordinating meetings with the public agencies and the client. One of the challenges involved in this project was the potential I-69 interchange proposed at the intersection by INDOT in its long-range plan.
