Anson, a new 1,700-acre mixed-use development located adjacent to the I-465 interchange with SR 334 in Zionsville, is expected to generate more than 112,000 trips per day to and from the surrounding roadway system. Developing the comprehensive plan for transportation improvements required traffic projection/forecasting along the corridor on the basis of the proposed land-use pattern. American Structurepoint collected traffic data, conducted trip generation, analyzed the trip distribution of existing and 'new' traffic, assigned the traffic to determine the impact of the new development on the existing transportation system, and recommended roadway improvements to provide acceptable service levels on state and local roadways. The study was coordinated with several agencies, including INDOT and Boone County. Subsequently, American Structurepoint conducted a Traffic Operations Analysis and Traffic Signal Warrant Analysis for the Anson Marketplace development located at the intersection of SR 334 and CR 650E in Boone County. This study included micro-level analysis of proposed commercial and residential development impacts and recommendations for roadway improvements required to safely mitigate the added traffic.
