American Structurepoint designed the first new YMCA facility in Indianapolis in over ten years. This unique, high-performance, 110,000-sft facility will include a completely integrated YMCA and medical office. The facility is designed to LEED Silver standards and will be owned by both the YMCA and Hendricks Regional Health. This facility will include an indoor aquatic center, gymnasium, aerobics center, wellness, fitness area, two baseball fields, two full-size basketball courts, teen center, child watch center, business offices, locker rooms, and café accessible to members on the inside and walkup traffic on the outside. The medical components of the facility include cardiac rehab, sports medicine, physical therapy, radiology/lab, spa, weight loss, retail spaces, and select imaging modalities. These spaces are carefully laid out to complement the adjacent wellness areas and enable a better utilized space that is economical for both the hospital and the YMCA. Special attention is being given to the dual use of the facility and integration of medical treatment and wellness to the members/users. Construction is planned to start in the fall of 2009.
