The LPA rehabilitation of US 31 over Little Pipe Creek is included as a portion of Business 31 South widening and reconstruction (approximately 2.2 miles from US 31 to West River Road). The existing arch (original construction 1925, widened in 1940) shall be widened in kind with new spandrel walls to accommodate the roadway widening. The existing bridge rail shall be replaced with one that approximates the original section while meeting current geometric and strength requirements. The deteriorated portions of the structure shall be patched, drainage systems repaired, and a new coating of waterproofing added, thereby increasing the overall lifespan of the structure.
