This project realigned 0.54 mile of Home Road with a grade separation at the CSX Railroad. The new road will span the railroad with a single-span composite prestressed concrete I-Beam bridge 105’ in length. Project work involved preparation of a preliminary engineering report that included alternative analysis of three alignments with over and underpass options and alternatives that include multi-use pedestrian and bike trails. The project also included preparation of a Categorical Exclusion (CE) Document, environmental clearance coordination, Ecological MOA, retaining wall and service road justification studies, structure type study, noise wall study, client and utility coordination, public meeting coordination, and preliminary cost estimates. The bridge, roadway alignments, retaining walls, and drainage structures were designed and located to accommodate future widening of Home Road to four lanes. Drainage improvements included stormwater design and analysis of culverts, ditches, a detention pond, ditch erosion protection using HYDRA (now ODOT CDSS Software) and HydraFlow and Hydrologic and Hydraulics analysis. The project also included the design of approximately 250' of 16" and 700" of 12" water line. The scope of services included engineering services to complete the ODOT Project Development Process. The project was an ODOT LPA project performed for Delaware County.
