This project involved structural design of a 6-story, 200,000-sft steel-frame, brick-clad office building with covered walkway to an adjacent 2-level precast parking garage. The building structure consists of wide-flange steel columns with steel joist and joist girder framing supporting normal-weight concrete slabs on composite metal deck. Lateral steel-braced frames were located to allow maximum flexibility for layout of corridors and usable office space. The building also includes a mechanical penthouse, one freight elevator, three passenger elevators, and a recessed loading dock facility with an exterior self-supporting canopy.
