This project included a fully actuated traffic signal and gateway improvement on US 40 at the main entrance to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (RHIT). The traffic signal consisted of four steel-strain poles in a box-span design, a TS2-Type 1 controller and cabinet, LED signal indications (except for amber), signal handholes, underground steel conduit, and vehicle loop detection on US 40 and on RHIT’s driveway. Pavement markings were also included in this project, which was 100 percent funded by RHIT.
