The intersection of these two roadways is heavily commercial (fast food and warehouse). In addition, both roadways have many closely spaced driveways. American Structurepoint obtained current and historical traffic count information to develop design year traffic based on historical growth of the area. With the design year traffic, a capacity analysis was performed to determine the best design of the two roadways in and around their intersection. Due to the closely spaced driveways, access management principles were applied. Accident data was obtained and graphically depicted to identify the critical accident areas. The recommended alternative will identify measures to fix capacity, safety, and access issues. The project includes the application to ODOT for safety funding.
