This project consisted of reconstruction of a portion of Chapin Street from Western Avenue to Lincoln Way. Included in the portion of the project from Western to Washington Avenues was the placement of new separated storm sewer, curb and gutter, and sidewalk. The remaining section of the project, from Washington Avenue to Lincoln Way, involved the placement of new separated storm sewer, curb and gutter, sidewalk, and pavement resurfacing. The existing center curb was removed and the pavement width reduced from four to two lanes throughout this portion of the project. The drainage plans for the site included a separate storm sewer system designed for conveyance of 10-year flood, which discharges into the existing sanitary sewer at the intersections of Colfax, LaSalle, and Lincoln Way. A portion of the discharge also flows into a separated storm sewer at the intersection of Western Avenue.
