This project involves redesign of approximately 1.8 miles of Worthsville Road from US 31 to I-65. The existing 2-lane roadway will be reconstructed into a 4-lane median boulevard section with curb and gutter and a 10-foot multi-use path on each side of the roadway. The project includes the design of a new enclosed storm sewer system and the design of two detention ponds. Hydraulic analysis and bridge design will be completed for the structure on Worthsville Road over Grassy Creek. Traffic signal design is also included for the intersection of US 31 and Worthsville Road and the intersection of Sheek Road and Worthsville Road. Other components of the project include landscape design, right-of-way engineering, right-of-way acquisition services, wetland delineation determination and mitigation, permitting, and railroad and utility coordination.
