American Consulting’s CEO, Jim Wurster, retires after illustrious 40-year career

February 1, 2007 - INDIANAPOLIS -- INDIANAPOLIS – February 1, 2007-- Jim Wurster, the founder of Indianapolis-based American Consulting Inc., recently retired as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Wurster founded the company in 1966 as a transportation firm and has led its growth and success into an award-winning and highly respected multi-discipline consulting practice recognized throughout the Midwest.

Under his leadership, the firm has grown to more than 275 full-time staff in three offices. Over those 40 years, the firm’s expertise has expanded to include architecture, structural and environmental engineering, construction inspection, information technology and forensics, in addition to its origins in transportation, civil engineering and land surveying.

Jim’s well deserved retirement means that although his involvement will be missed in the daily lives of everyone at the company, his impact will continue in a consulting role for the next few years.

“Jim’s influence can be seen in many of Indiana’s largest infrastructure projects and he has certainly left his mark on the consulting profession in Indiana and the Midwest as well. His values have shaped our company,” said Rick Conner, President.
