American Structurepoint Expands Fire Investigative Services

Russ Wilson has more than a decade of experience as a fire investigator, but he also carries another job title at American Structurepoint – storyteller. Wilson provides complete investigations for his clients, with debris removal and reconstruction, delivering a clear understanding of the fire origin and cause. This is followed by a detailed and prompt report. With Wilson, clients get the story behind the fire.

With experience working for both private and public organizations like local fire departments, Wilson also brings a unique perspective to clients. He helps bridge the gap of communication for all agencies involved, including fire department investigators, law firms, and insurance companies.

“Ultimately, I just want to help people who have suffered a terrible loss and are going through a rough time in their life,” said Wilson. “Even if I can help them in one small aspect and provide hope, I’ve done my job.”

Wilson has a specialty degree in fire science technology and fire investigation from Ivy Tech Community College. He also obtained a Certified Fire Investigator certification through the International Association of Arson Investigators. Since starting his career in 1996, he has investigated over 1,000 fires and explosions involving incendiary cause, large loss, commercial structures, heavy equipment, vehicle fires, fire death investigation, fraud, and subrogation.

Wilson is a project manager and lead fire investigator for Indianapolis-based Engineering and Architecture firm American Structurepoint. He leads all fire investigative efforts across Indiana and beyond for the Investigative Group.

“I want to grow with the company, expand our services, and develop relationships with clients in Indiana and surrounding states, ultimately helping to establish American Structurepoint as the leading consulting firm in the industry,” said Wilson.
