COLUMBUS, OHIO— For a second consecutive year, Columbus Business First has recognized American Structurepoint among the Central Ohio Top 25 Engineering Firms, moving up from No. 24 to No. 19 based on the firm’s 2011 consulting engineering billings of $4.4 million.
The Columbus office opened its doors in 1999. Since 2004, the staff has grown from 12 to 25 experts, working across multiple disciplines to provide innovative solutions in-house to save clients time and money. Although originally focused on transportation projects, American Structurepoint’s Columbus professionals have also expanded to surveying, investigative, site/civil, structural, construction inspection, and environmental services over the last four years, successfully completing over 200 projects.
One of the firm’s most notable recent Central Ohio engineering projects is under construction at The Ohio State University, where the firm is providing professional services for the repair of several deteriorated areas throughout the campus, including improvements to asphalt and concrete surfaces, pavement markings, sidewalks, crosswalks, ADA ramps, stormwater drainage, and other related site improvements. Construction is scheduled for completion by mid-August 2012, prior to fall classes commencing.
Another ongoing project of note is Emerald Parkway, the joint project between the cities of Columbus and Dublin, Ohio, which has been bid. Utilities are being relocated, with road construction soon to follow. Construction is scheduled to be finished in August 2013.
