The 43,000 sft Consolidated Support Center at Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base is an executive-level administrative facility and office building. American Structurepoint is the lead designer on the design/build team. The building is a signature building fitting to the base architectural standards, and is intended to consolidate key base support functions in a single prominent location. The facility will house the mission support group commander and staff; all installation legal counsel functions, including a full military courtroom; base financial management staff; base contracting staff; and family support center staff.
The project anticipates a LEED® Gold Certification and utilizes a highly efficient design and HVAC system, low-impact site design, and numerous sustainable strategies. The building’s two-story atrium is designed to support a historic P-51 Mustang hung above the entry. American Structurepoint is teamed with Duke Construction and anticipates a spring 2011 completion date with a $10 million construction cost.
