Steam Distribution Network, NASA Glenn Research Center

Cleveland, Ohio

This $6.4 million project included a feasibility study and preparation of construction documents to replace a portion of the steam distribution and condensate return network. NASA wanted to promote safety, reliability, and efficiency of steam operations at the center. Design services included relocation of utility systems (steam, water, sewer, storm, etc.), layout of the new steam system, and rehabilitation of the transportation network through the campus. The steam trenches and manholes were designed to structurally withstand street loading and the harsh winter climate.
