This $52-million complex houses 1,150 soldiers and consists of two triple-barracks buildings, one single barrack, and a dining facility. The 26,000-sft dining facility was designed capable of seating 626 persons with an additional working staff of 170 individuals. The structural system consisted of a structural steel hip-framed roof with a central elevated mechanical storage room allowing for a clear span dining area free of interior columns. The structure was designed to meet government antiterrorism force protection standards (ATFP) by reinforcing all glazed openings with structural steel tube frames. Complex 1 is designed for LEED Gold certification; Complex 2 is LEED Silver registered.
