HAM-Plainfield Road Roundabouts
Blue Ash, Ohio
The intersections of Plainfield Road with Peppermill Lane, Hunt Road, and the eastbound ramps for SR126 (Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway) in the City of Blue Ash experienced heavy congestion during peak travel times, which contributed to crash problems. The Plainfield Road-hunt Road intersection was particularly treacherous for motorists and pedestrians alike. The intersection stood out as the most dangerous in the city and ranked twelfth on a list of most dangerous intersections in the entire state of Ohio.

2024 American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Ohio Engineering Excellence Awards, Honor Award
American Structurepoint engineers designed roundabouts for the Plainfield Road corridor to address the safety and congestion issues. Pedestrian facilities were added and improved along both sides of the corridor, and a median along Plainfield Road contributed to the City’s commitment to access management. The project included crash evaluations, benefit/cost analysis, traffic operations, an RSA, and an Interchange Operations Study. American Structurepoint also helped the City of Blue Ash secure nearly $12 million in federal funds for construction in FY21.
